St John’s Enrichment Scholarships 2017

The St John’s Enrichment Scholarships are awarded to primary school students entering Years 4, 5 or 6, who will make a positive contribution to the overall life of our school. The scholarships will cover up to 50% of the published school fees for the successful applicants’ junior schooling.

Successful applicants will display a demonstrable talent in at least one key learning area, such as achievement of high academic results, excelling at sport, in the area of fine and performing arts, or in equestrian pursuits. In short, these are students who will enrich our school community with their presence and who, in turn, will receive all the benefits offered by a St John’s education.

Candidates will be required to submit the below supporting evidence to meet selection criteria:

  • School reports demonstrating good academic results and positive behaviour
  • Achievements to date demonstrating the applicant’s enrichment credentials e.g. academic results, performance at high level or evidence of talent, and the pursuit of this area through external activities to the classroom environment e.g. membership of a club, art classes or competition achievements in equestrian, sport, performing or visual arts, demonstration of community service
  • A quality, hand-written, A4 length response addressing the topic of “Why I would like to be considered for the scholarship and what I hope to achieve from a St John’s education.”  This should include evidence of additional learning, academic pursuits, sport or other co-curricular activities
  • A successful interview with the Head of St John’s and a staff member following an assessment of the submitted documentation. The applicant should be able to articulate their responses in an age-appropriate manner, be responsive to staff questions, and demonstrate the ability to communicate politely.

The application and supporting documents should be returned to:
